Collision Damage Reduction (CDR) – Excess Clause
In the event that the client causes damage to a Shajasa vehicle, they are liable to pay the excess. The excess can be reduced by purchasing Collision Damage Reduction.

CDR reduces the hirer’s excess. With CDR, hirers are only liable to pay the reduced excess in the event that damages are caused to the vehicles body parts, accessorries and undercarriage.
Refundable Security Deposit (RSD)
A Refundable Security Deposit will be required of between RM 500 and RM 2,000, depending upon the vehicle type and length of rental. This will be returned to the Hirer at the end of the rental period.
Repositioning Fee / Delivery/Collection
If the hirer wishes to pick up or drop off a vehicle outside Kuala Lumpur, a Repositioning Fee will be imposed. A repositioning service will only be available for a rental of 4 days or longer. A guide to one-way rates is as follows:
For delivery or collection within Klang Valley, a charge of between RM 20 and RM 70 per way may be imposed, depending on location and time of day.
Duration of Rental
Unless otherwise agreed, the minimum rental duration is 3 days.
Driving License – Minimum and Maximum Age
The Hirer must be in possession of a valid driving license held for at least one (1) year. An international driving license is preferred.
Minimum age: 23 years
Maximum age limit: 65 years
Standard Rental Qualification
Shajasa reserves the right to refuse any rental, at their discretion, or should the Hirer not meet with the standard terms and conditions of rental.
Vehicle Make and Model
Vehicle makes and models are correct at the time of printing. Bookings will be confirmed by car group and make/model. All vehicles will be less than 36 months old.
Extension of Rental / Excess Hours
Should the Hirer intend to extend the rental beyond the original confirmed date, Hirer must inform Shajasa Office so as to extend the insurance coverage.
Rental rates are calculated on a 24 hour basis and should a rental exceed the agreed duration, for each completed hour, a charge is levied based on 1/5 of the daily rental rate.
Deposit and Payment
A deposit of 50% is required upon booking. This deposit forms part of your final payment. Full payment is required upon commencement of rental. Failure to comply with this may result in an automatic cancellation of your reservation and forfeiture of your deposit.
Methods of Payment
Methods of payment accepted are credit card (MasterCard/Visa) with a 3% surcharge, telegraphic transfer, cash deposit, and cheque.
Currencies accepted are Ringgit Malaysia and US Dollar, the exchange rate being determined at the sole discretion of Shajasa and updated periodically. Exchange rates so set are final and non-negotiable.
All charges for telegraphic transfer or other payment method are to be borne by the client.
For credit card payments made online, we reserve the right to require a Letter of Authorisation to verify legitimate use of the card.
Whatever the method of payment, funds must have cleared in our account by the payment deadline.
Prices are subject to change without prior notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as increase in airfares, other transport costs, government tax, etc.
As well as the petrol costs, a refuelling service charge of RM 5.00 will be levied if the vehicle is returned with less petrol than when it was rented out.
In the event of any cancellation, the following fees will be applicable:
- 21 or more days prior to commencement 30% of total cost
- 14 – 20 days prior to commencement 50% of total cost
- 7 – 13 days prior to commencement 75% of total cost
- Less than 7 days prior to commencement 100%
Currency exchange fluctuations, bank charges, etc. will be deducted from any refund made, and a 5% credit card processing fee will be deducted for any refund made to the client’s credit card.
Shajasa Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd (herewith known as The Company), reserves the right to cancel any rental prior to commencement for any reason whatsoever. The company may, if it so chooses, recommend an alternative vehicle to you, preferably of the same category. Should you decide not to accept the alternative, all monies paid by you will be refunded in full without further obligation or liability on the part of The Company.
Refund of Unused Services
No refunds, either in part or in full, will be made for unused rental.
Administrative / Amendments Fee
An administrative fee of RM 200 (or equivalent) will be charged for any amendment after documents are processed, and RM 100 after reservation has been acted upon.
Rates include coverage for third party property damage, up to RM 3,000,000 and unlimited coverage for third party injuries.
We strongly recommend that you purchase a personal travel insurance policy prior to the commencement of your holiday. The Company shall not be responsible for any loss or damage as a result of trip cancellation, personal baggage, personal accident, injury or illness.
Where the vehicle may be used (Malaysia/Singapore)
All Shajasa cars are strictly prohibited from being driven into Thailand.
Collision Damage Reduction on Shajasa vehicles only applies within Peninsular Malaysia. Should damage occur to a Shajasa vehicle in Singapore, the hirer shall bear the full cost of repair.
Shajasa vehicles may enter Singapore subject to the purchase of the AutoPass at the Causeway, and it is Renter’s responsibility to obey all relevant traffic requirements while driving in Singapore, such as Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) and Vehicle Entry Permits (VEP) as well as other Toll charges.
Shajasa vehicles must be returned to Malaysia at the end of the rental, and any related costs (tow truck, etc.), shall be borne by the hirer.
By law, Singapore citizens, Singapore permanent residents (regardless of their place of residence) and residents of Singapore are not allowed to use or keep Malaysian registered cars in Singapore.
